The iconic Polar Bear Armchair by Royère is one of a kind piece of art

   Jean Royère (1902–1981) originally designed Polar Bear Sofa in 1946 for his mother’s Paris apartment, a later in 1949 came the armchair, for the same collection.

   A key figure of the avant-garde in the 1950s, Royère tackled all kinds of decoration work and opened branches in the Near East and Latin America. Among his patrons were King Farouk, King Hussein of Jordan, and the Shah of Iran…

Material & Feature:

The frame is made from naturally rot-resistant Merbau wood, no chemical treatments applied. The pictured upholstery is Sherpa-Cloud White, the most popular one. Needless to say all materials are fire-resistant & non-toxic (Baby friendly).
